Adler was a general in the Wehrmacht. He was sent to Paris, to guard a fortress full of American prisoners. He had to prevent this from happening, and he failed when he was captured by Cole's Squad. Cole had to capture Adler for telling him information about the American prisoners. He chose to defect and tell him information about the place.
