"With the Germans focused on the Allied invasion, we were instructed to infiltrate an enemy stronghold to obtain key strategic documents. In order to do so, we had to go neck-deep into enemy territory."
—Cole Wright
Make Haste, Not War is the first mission in Campaign 1.
Summary[]
The mission opens up in Basse-Normandie, France, with Sergeant Cole Wright writing down his thoughts about the war:
"The war is coming to a close. I’ve escaped death so many times, that I fear it will take me before I am free. So I’ve decided to write; to recount what I’ve lived through, because maybe I won’t make it. Or maybe, once all this is over, I’ll choose to simply forget."
The mission then shifts, where Jacob Hall and Cole Wright are taking cover under some boxes, reloading their guns. Wright then asks Hall if he is ready for the impending battle, to which Hall replies that he is. Cole then tells Jacob to stay tight, and looks over to see two German soldiers having a conversation: he then shoots one of them, which initiates the battle.
As Cole's team advances, enemy planes fly over, dropping bombs. However the bombs end up hitting majority of the Nazi's, which allows for the American forces to advance with ease. An allied tank soon joins Wright's forces, as just as things begin looking up, an enemy tank reveals itself. The enemy tank the proceeds to kill two of Cole's soldiers, along with destroying the allied tank.
Cole is then required to advance forward, and pick up a bazooka, which he then uses to destroy the tank. Dozens of German soldiers advance forward, but he and Hall are able to fend them off.
