Osttruppen (German for: Eastern Troops) is a type of enemy you encounter in the early chapters of Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 and Earned in Blood. It is the weakest enemy the player have to fight. The unit represent the enemy is the 709th Infantry Division. Osttruppen (roughly translates to Eastern troops) were a combination of prisoners of war, penal units and foreign volunteers usually and mostly from the Eastern Front and originated from ethnicities within the Soviet Union, conscripted to fight for the German army. The Osttruppen suffered from poor discipline, lack of training and equipment and weren't meant to be the backbone of the German defenses in the region.

- The Osttruppen weren't of German origin, although in game they don't have Slavic or Eastern languages voice lines, and still use German.
- Despite the portrayal in the game as completely incompetent and the easiest enemy to defeat, some units of the Osttruppen fought heroically in the Normandy Campaign, but were quickly bested by superior Allied forces
