"The command came from Major Bastion. A group of resistance fighters, led by the infamous Rachelle Dubois, were trapped and needed assistance. Dubois earned her nickname, "L'Hirondelle", due to her swift assaults on the German forces. But this time, things had gone awry. She needed our help. Fast."
—Cole Wright
Quick Steal is the opening mission for the second campaign, in Brothers in Arms 3: Sons of War.
Summary[]
Somewhere before the events of this mission, Cole writes about Jacob Hall, who was killed less than a month before the events of this mission:
"Jacob had me promise to bring his tags back to his mama should anything ever happen to him. After he hit the ground, I scrambled to get them. A bullet whizzed past my ear before I could nab them, and I had no choice but to keep moving, and leave where he had fallen. I still wonder if they gave him a grave or if they left him for the birds."
The second campaign opens up on a bridge leading into enemy territory, in Basse-Normandie, France, unchanged from Campaign 1. Major Bastion informs Cole that a French resistance group, led by L'Hirondelle, is in trouble, and that they need to move fast. He tells Wright that they'll need to commandeer an enemy vehicle, because Cole's squad doesn't have any method of transportation. He tells Wright to give his team some cover with his sniper, so that they could secure the enemy truck.
The truck is in bad shape, and James Gann, the sniper specialist, hopes that they could get the banged up truck running. He quickly spots enemies, who are emerging out of an outpost, and informs Cole that they shouldn't let them blow up the truck.
Once they take out the outpost, truckloads worth of Nazi's advance on the allies, this time from behind. Cole and his squad are able to defend their position, and the truck. The squad below are able to get the truck running, and James yells at them to move it because the Germans have called an air strike. The allies almost make it on the other side of the bridge, but the air strike nicks the back of the truck, ruining the engine.
The ground team tell Gann and Wright to give them cover while they fix the engine. Waves or bazooka's come after the truck, but Cole and James are able to fend them off, and protect their team. The truck is then repaired, and James tells them to move out.
